Services
As well as outsourcing and consultancy in
supply chain management, we are also in the position to deliver NVQs
in procurement levels 2, 3 and 4 previously not available from any
local companies.
We
have also developed a bespoke 10 day training course for current
purchasing personnel which gives them role and goal clarity, linking
in to the company's strategic plan.
DELIVERY OF THE SERVICE
This is achieved by analysis of the current situation discussion with
the board, senior management in quality, production, finance and the
supply chain personal. We then develop key performance indicators
usually in 6 key areas as follows:
1. Supplier delivery performance.
2. 20% cost reduction.
3. Increased productivity
4. Reduce the complexity of purchasing.
5. Strategic partnerships.
6. Reduce the cost of logistics outbound and
inbound
These
can be expanded on and then prioritised for process improvements. The
processes for improvements are developed with the supply chain team
agreeing targets with milestones linked into the company strategy.
When targets have been agreed, discussions take place drawing up a
training needs analysis matrix for the supply chain team. This matrix
highlights the areas in which training is required then the course is
developed, using template training courses for the various elements
tailoring them to the company specific needs. Experience shows the
following are common areas which training is requested and has been
delivered in previously:
1. Strategic procurement overview.
2. Time management and Handling paperwork
3. Strategic supplier partnerships.
4. Effective meetings.
5. Negotiation.
6. Decision making and Problem solving.
These
are delivered over an eight week period and assist the supply team in
exploring different methods of achieving their targets.
The
process is reviewed on a monthly bases ensuring the mile stones are
being achieved to meet the targets. On a quarterly basis a full review
is carried out with the supply chain personnel presenting the
achievements to the plan and if behind, the corrective action to
recover to plan. After the twelfth month the results are compared to
targets and revised targets agreed for the next twelve months. At this
time a full review and evaluation of the effectiveness of the
improvement excellence process is undertaken. |
